6 Locals We Love

Supporting Sydney producers & makers

Not just a pretty face! Sydney, and more specifically the North Shore and Northern Beaches, is home to an array of talented people creating and purveying world-class wares and sensational produce. And with such a selection at our fingertips, we always start our search locally for additions to our restaurant, before looking further afield.

Even when building our restaurant, we worked with Seaforth-local interior designer Sally Taylor and Sydney building experts ProjectPlus to support locals from the grassroots - or the sand grains, as is more accurate.

You’ll find local touches throughout, upstairs and down, and even either side. You’ll find them on the table, your plate and in your glass. You’ll even find them on our walls!

Our restaurant manager Adam George has filled the beverage list with local wines, spirits and beers, from as near as Brookevale in the case of 7th Day Pilsner and Manly Spirits gin and limoncello. And our head chef, Sam McCallum packs plenty of local produce into his kitchen, from Mount Zero olive oil and locally-made burrata and stracciatella to working with Leichhardt-based meat suppliers, Great Meats Co.

Here’s a few other local makers and growers we support in our venue…

#1. Business & Pleasure Co

Two Northern Beaches locals Ollie Edwards and Lachlan Leckie established Business & Pleasure Co in the summer of 2016, born from a passion for all things vintage and inspired by California dreamin’ coastal vibes. Their business has been producing top quality luxury lifestyle goods ever since. You’ll find some of their endless summer-style deck chairs and beach umbrellas lining our private beach, and their cushions and seat covers in the dining room.

#2. Staple Bakery

You can't go past the crunchy croissants and freshly-baked loaves from James Partington and his team up the road at Staple Bakery in Seaforth. We feature a selection of their baked goodies made with natural yeast and flour at our takeaway kiosk.

#3. Vynka’s Art

There’s no denying that the view looking out at St Siandra is nothing short of sensational. But the view looking in is equally as pleasing to the eye, thanks to our beautiful interiors including sunny yellow walls dotted with wonderful works from Vynka's Art. Based in Cronulla, Vynka Hallam is a talented self-taught Australian artist documenting her travels on canvas. One of our favourites is her acrylic piece, ‘Olives n Lemons’.

#4. Alex and Trahanas

Adding more European holiday vibes to our decor is ceramics and accessories from locals, Alexandra Heard and Heleena Trahanas from Alex and Trahanas. You’ll find some of their plates hanging from our walls, inspired by the beauty of summer on the Med - sun-filled terraces, seaside trattorias and tavernas; entertaining in linen with delicious food, wine, surrounded by friends and family. They speak our language big time.

#5. Copper Beech

Blossoming blooms really do complete a space, and there’s no one else we’d rather call on for floral support than fabulous Balgowlah flower merchant, Copper Beech. Briohney Anderson and Debbie Braund are not only talented florists but they’re also some of the loveliest locals in town!

#6. Manly Spirits Co. Distillery

Local flavours, producers and ingredient abound on our beverage list, particularly in our selection of holiday-style signature cocktails named after renowned local yachts. One of our favourite features is Manly Spirits with their coastal-inspired artisanal spirits distilled locally on the Northern Beaches. Enjoy Manly Spirits Limoncello on the rocks, or in our Champagne Charlie cocktail with citrus and prosecco, or Manly Spirits Dry Gin with tonic, or in our Harmony cocktail with St Germain Elderflower and prosecco.
